Emiline Brewer
1842: Emiline Watts is born a slave on the Thomas H. Watts' farm. She is one of 11 slaves--all female.
Prior to 1863: Emiline and Robert Brewer "Jumped the Broom" during slavery.

The Brewers

This website depicts the legacy of two formerly enslaved people of Chesterfield County, South Carolina. In rural Pageland, S.C., Robert and Emiline Brewer raised 11 children to be strong, brave, and self-reliant. This is their story as told by their descendants.
